UP’s Kannauj Police Goes Fully Digital, Sets New Benchmark in Smart Policing

Lucknow: In a major breakthrough, Kannauj Police in Uttar Pradesh has become the state’s first fully digital police district, ushering in a new era of smart policing.

The district’s transition to a digital platform was marked by the launch of the e-office system on Good Governance Day, December 25. Developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC), the system aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in administrative operations.

According to Kannauj SP Amit Kumar Anand, the e-office system will revolutionize the way police services are delivered, ensuring faster complaint resolution, reduced corruption, and increased transparency.

“The digital shift will also enable officers to track progress and streamline decision-making through digital file monitoring,” he added.

The initiative is part of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s efforts to advance the Digital India Mission in Uttar Pradesh. The district’s digital infrastructure has been strengthened, with all police stations and offices equipped with necessary technical resources.

Kannauj Police’s achievement serves as a model for other districts in Uttar Pradesh, demonstrating the potential of digital technology to transform policing and improve public services.

As Uttar Pradesh continues to push the boundaries of digital innovation, Kannauj Police’s pioneering effort is expected to inspire other districts to follow suit, paving the way for a more efficient, transparent, and accountable police force in the state.
