Union Minister Piyush Goyal Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Delhi-based Women Refugees from Pakistan

On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal was honored with the traditional tying of the rakhi by Delhi-based women refugees from Pakistan. This heartwarming gesture was a symbol of the bond between the minister and the refugees, who have been granted Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Minister Goyal also celebrated the festival with Sadhvi Rithambara and Brahmakumari sisters, making it a memorable Raksha Bandhan celebration. Addressing the gathering, Goyal emphasized the significance of the CAA in providing safety and security to the migrants who have been granted nationality under the act.

“The Citizenship (Amendment) Act has given you the respect and safety that is your right,” he said, expressing his joy at being part of the celebration. He attributed the success of the refugees in obtaining Indian citizenship to the strong will of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The event was a testament to the government’s commitment to providing a sense of belonging and security to the refugees who have made India their home. As Minister Goyal remarked, “This is one of the best Raksha Bandhan celebrations of my life.”
