Surrendered Naxalites Start New Life, Tie Knot in Heartwarming Ceremony

Raipur: In a poignant ceremony, four former Naxalites who surrendered to the government in June 2024, got married in Sukma’s Mini Stadium. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai graced the occasion, blessing the newlyweds.

The couples, Mausam Mahesh, Hemla Munni, Madkam Pandu, and Ravva Bhime, had previously been associated with Naxal organizations for several years. They hailed from different villages in Sukma, including Gaganpalli, Dubba Marka, Kanhaipara, and Sallatong.

The wedding was organized under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, a state scheme supporting marriages. This unique ceremony symbolizes the government’s efforts to rehabilitate and reintegrate former Naxalites into mainstream society.

The couples expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sai for attending their special day. They shared their regret over choosing the path of violence in the past and attributed their decision to surrender to the government’s rehabilitation policies.

This heartwarming ceremony marks a new beginning for the couples and stands as a testament to the state government’s commitment to bringing peace and progress to the region.
