NIA Launches Massive Crackdown on Terror Infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted extensive searches across five districts in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday, targeting locations linked to terror infiltration and recent attacks on security forces and civilians. This operation is part of a broader investigation into the infiltration of terrorists from across the border, specifically those affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
NIA teams searched eight locations in Reasi, Udhampur, Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar districts, uncovering materials that reveal connections between banned outfits, overground workers (OGWs), and hybrid terrorists. Premises of sympathizers and cadres of these organizations were also searched.
The suspected hybrid terrorists and OGWs involved in yesterday’s searches are linked to newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of banned terrorist outfits. These individuals facilitated the infiltration of active terrorists into Indian territory, providing logistical support, food, shelter, and money.
The NIA registered case RC-04/2024/NIA/JMU on October 24, following directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The case pertains to the infiltration of LeT and JeM terrorists through the international border and Line of Control.
Further investigations are ongoing in the case, aiming to dismantle the terror network and bring those responsible to justice.
This crackdown is a significant step in countering terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir, demonstrating the NIA’s commitment to national security.
