Mysterious Deaths in Rajouri: Amit Shah Orders Inter-Ministerial Team to Investigate

A mysterious illness has claimed the lives of 16 people, including 12 children and four adults, in Jammu’s Rajouri district, sparking widespread fear and apprehension among the local population. As per report, the deaths which have been confined to three interlinked families, have prompted Union Home Minister Amit Shah to order the constitution of an Inter-Ministerial Team to ascertain the causes of these deaths.
The first reported cases of the mysterious illness date back to December 5, when five members of a family, including its head, died.Five days later, Last month on December 12,three children from the same village died of the same mysterious disease.
In a more recent incident, on January 12, a family of ten fell ill after consuming another community meal, resulting in eight more deaths. The deaths have sent shockwaves through the village, which comprises approximately 5,700 people.
Despite the efforts of local health authorities, the cause of the mysterious illness remains unknown. Thousands of samples have been taken by different agencies from the village, but the government has stated that all samples have tested negative for any viral or bacteriological etiology.
In response to the crisis, Shah has ordered the constitution of an Inter-Ministerial Team to investigate the causes of the deaths. The team, led by the Ministry of Home Affairs, will comprise experts from various ministries, including the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Ministry of Water Resources.
The team will also be assisted by experts from animal husbandry, food safety, and forensic science labs. The experts will investigate potential causes of the illness, including environmental factors, food and water contamination, and other possible sources.
The Inter-Ministerial Team is scheduled to visit the affected village on January 19th and will work in collaboration with the local administration to provide immediate relief and take precautionary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
The investigation aims to determine the root cause of the mysterious deaths and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. The team will also work to alleviate the fears and apprehensions of the local population and provide them with necessary support and assistance.
