Indian Railways is investing heavily to upgrade tracks and facilities, running nearly 1,000 special trains from January 12 to February 28, 2025.
The Uttar Pradesh government is taking extensive measures to ensure the success of Maha Kumbh 2025, expected to draw 40 crore people, by training its police force to adopt a people-centric approach.
A comprehensive training program has been launched at the Sankalp Training Pandal in Prayagraj, emphasizing both security measures and soft skills. The program focuses on polite and helpful interactions with pilgrims, sadhus, and tourists. Police personnel are being trained to provide information on parking, transportation, routes, and accommodations, as well as respectful interactions with sadhus and sanyasis.
To facilitate communication with foreign tourists, AI tools like the Bhashini app are being incorporated. Gender sensitization is also a key focus, with male officers being trained to act sensitively and offer assistance to women. Water safety is another priority, with Water Police, ADRF, and SDRF personnel being trained to prevent accidents like drowning.
The training program, conducted in two batches over 21 days, will equip officers with the skills and mindset to assist millions of devotees. UP Police’s efforts aim to create a harmonious and secure environment, showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage.
SSP Kumbh, Rajesh Dwivedi, emphasized that following CM Yogi’s vision, the UP Police are placing special emphasis not only on security but also on treating devotees with kindness. Technology integration and soft skills training are key components of this approach.
As Prayagraj prepares for the world’s most spectacular cultural event, the city’s spiritual significance shines brighter than ever. With its rich history and mythology, Prayagraj is emerging as a beacon of faith and spirituality.
According to mythology, King Bhagirath brought the Ganga to earth through intense penance, liberating 60,000 sons of King Sagar. In his honor, the river is also known as Bhagirathi.
