Landmark Transfer of Assam Rifles Battalion Land to Mizoram Government

Aizawl: In a significant milestone for Mizoram’s development, the transfer of Assam Rifles Battalion land to the Government of Mizoram took place today. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah attended the event, along with Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, and other top officials.

The transfer marks the fulfillment of a decades-old demand to relocate Assam Rifles to interior areas, addressing space constraints caused by the region’s topography. This move is expected to facilitate the overall development of Mizoram, including Aizawl, which has been hindered by an acute shortage of space.

Amit Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s crucial decision for fulfilling this long-standing demand. He emphasized that the Modi government is committed to the state’s progress and has been actively working to strengthen and integrate the entire North-East region over the past 10 years.

The event also highlighted the Modi government’s efforts to drive development in the North-East. Shah noted that the region has witnessed unprecedented development in sectors such as tourism, technology, sports, space, and agriculture.

In Mizoram, several major infrastructure projects are underway. These include the development of national highways, railway projects, digital connectivity initiatives, healthcare facilities, and power generation projects.

The transfer of Assam Rifles Battalion land is a significant step towards Mizoram’s development, and the Government of India remains committed to ensuring a developed, peaceful, secure, and beautiful Mizoram.
