Indian Navy Enhances Cooperation with German Navy through MPX

In a significant milestone in maritime cooperation, Indian Naval Ship Tabar conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with the German Navy off the Kiel Canal on August 5, 2024. This exercise follows INS Tabar’s visit to Hamburg, Germany, from July 17-20, 2024, and demonstrates the Indian Navy’s commitment to strengthening maritime relations between the two nations.

The MPX involved advanced maritime operations, including Ship Controlled Approaches, Winching exercises, and VERTREP serials, with the Sea Lynx of 3rd Squadron Naval Air Wing 5 (MFG5) of the German Navy. The exercise showcased the high levels of professionalism and commitment to enhancing collaborative efforts between the two navies.

India and Germany share a strong relationship built on shared values, democratic principles, and a commitment to global peace and security. The Indian Navy remains dedicated to fostering partnerships with navies worldwide, and the MPX with the German Navy reinforces the strong bilateral naval ties and the ability to work together in maritime security operations.

This exercise highlights the Indian Navy’s outreach and sustenance efforts, marking a significant milestone in the maritime cooperation between India and Germany. As the Indian Navy continues to foster partnerships with navies globally, this exercise demonstrates the commitment to enhancing collaborative efforts and ensuring maritime security.
