Israeli Foreign Minister Warns Of Growing Threat of Terrorism in Middle-East

Malta: Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar delivered a stern warning about the growing threat of terrorism in the Middle East during his remarks at the OSCE Council of Ministers Plenary in Malta.

According to Sa’ar, the world has witnessed the alarming rise of terrorism in Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen, all backed by Iran. These terror organizations have evolved into full-fledged states, controlling territory, governing civilians, and building significant military infrastructures.

Sa’ar pointed out that these jihadist terror states cannot be deterred in the same way as conventional states. He cited the example of Hezbollah’s massive missile arsenal, which surpasses that of most countries worldwide.

The foreign minister also highlighted the devastating impact of the Houthis’ pirate on international trade and maritime transport in the Red Sea. He expressed astonishment that the international community has yet to take decisive action against this threat.

Sa’ar reiterated that Israel has been attacked from multiple fronts, including Iran and Iraq, without provocation. He stressed that Israel has only responded to these attacks, rather than initiating them.

The foreign minister accused Iran as the primary culprit behind these terror proxies, providing financial, military, and logistical support. He warned that Iran’s explicit goal is to annihilate the State of Israel and that its actions over the past year are a stark testament to this threat.

Sa’ar concluded by emphasizing that the international community must take immediate action to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, which would have catastrophic consequences for regional and global peace and security.

The OSCE Council of Ministers Plenary meeting brings together foreign ministers from across Europe and Central Asia to discuss pressing regional and global issues.
