INS Tushil: India’s Latest Naval Powerhouse

Kaliningard, Russia: In a significant boost to India’s naval capabilities, the Indian Navy has commissioned its latest multi-role stealth-guided missile frigate, INS Tushil (F 70). The commissioning ceremony took place at the Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia, with Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh as the chief guest.

INS Tushil is an upgraded Krivak III class frigate, designed for blue water operations across the spectrum of naval warfare. The ship is equipped with advanced weapons, including Brahmos supersonic cruise missiles, Shtil Surface-to-Air Missiles, and anti-submarine torpedoes.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh highlighted the significance of the commissioning, stating that INS Tushil is a testament to the growing India-Russia strategic partnership. He emphasized that the ship’s advanced capabilities will enhance India’s maritime security and strengthen its position as a net security provider in the Indian Ocean Region.

The ship’s features include advanced stealth capabilities, multi-role operations, and a high degree of automation. INS Tushil is also equipped with indigenous systems, including 33 Indian-made systems onboard.

The ship is part of the upgraded Krivak III class of Project 1135.6 and boasts advanced features, including blue water operation capabilities across various dimensions of naval warfare.

INS Tushil is equipped with a range of advanced weapons, including Brahmos supersonic cruise missiles, Shtil Surface-to-Air Missiles, and advanced anti-submarine and anti-air systems. The ship is also capable of deploying Kamov 28 and Kamov 31 helicopters, further enhancing its combat prowess.

With a gas turbine propulsion plant and state-of-the-art controls, INS Tushil can achieve speeds over 30 knots. Its high degree of automation and stealth features enhance its combat capability and survivability.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh expressed confidence that India and Russia will continue to strengthen their cooperation in the coming times, exploring new areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Space Exploration, and Counter-Terrorism.
