Indo-Pacific Nations Join Forces for Exercise Malabar 2024

The Sea Phase of Exercise Malabar 2024 commenced on October 14, 2024, off the coast of Visakhapatnam, marking a significant milestone in naval cooperation between Australia, India, Japan, and the United States.

Naval warships, embarked integral helicopters, and long-range maritime patrol aircraft from the participating nations are exercising in unison in the Bay of Bengal, demonstrating exceptional collaboration and operational synergy.

The Sea Phase features a wide range of maritime warfare operations, covering surface, sub-surface, and air warfare domains. These advanced exercises aim to enhance mutual understanding and coordination among the participating navies, enabling seamless operation as a Combined Task Force at sea.

Indian Naval submarines are participating in sub-surface warfare exercises, while combined drills of Special Forces from participating nations are also being conducted.

Exercise Malabar 2024 is designed to strengthen interoperability between the participating nations, contributing to enhanced regional security and stability in the Indo-Pacific. By fostering cooperation and coordination, this exercise promotes a stable and secure maritime environment, critical for global trade and economic growth.

The Sea Phase will culminate on October 18, 2024, with a closing ceremony, marking the successful completion of Exercise Malabar 2024. This exercise reinforces the commitment of Australia, India, Japan, and the United States to ensuring regional security and stability, promoting peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
