Indian PM Narendra Modi and Spanish Counterpart Pedro Sanchez Launch TATA Aircraft Facility

Vadodara: In a landmark ceremony, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez jointly inaugurated the TATA Aircraft Complex for manufacturing C-295 aircraft. Located at TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) Campus in Vadodara, Gujarat, this facility symbolizes the strengthening partnership between India and Spain.

PM Modi hailed the occasion as a significant step in the bilateral relationship, praising the teamwork between TATA and Airbus. He also paid tribute to the late Ratan Tata.

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s remarkable progress in defense manufacturing, citing initiatives like expanded private sector participation, empowered DRDO and HAL, and defense corridors in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. India’s defense exports have surged 30 times in the past decade, with equipment now being exported to over 100 countries.

India’s aviation sector has also witnessed unprecedented growth, connecting hundreds of small cities and positioning the country as a hub for aviation and MRO. The TATA Aircraft Complex is poised to play a pivotal role in designing and manufacturing civil aircraft for India and the world.

Concluding the ceremony, PM Modi invited Spanish innovators and industry leaders to collaborate with India, expressing confidence that this joint initiative would inspire future partnerships.

This strategic collaboration reinforces India’s reputation as a trusted partner in global aerospace manufacturing and underscores its commitment to becoming a major player in defense and aviation.
