Indian Army Contingent Departs for Multinational Military Exercise KHAAN QUEST

A contingent of 40 Indian Army personnel has departed for the Multinational Military Exercise KHAAN QUEST, scheduled to take place from July 27 to August 9, 2024, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The exercise aims to enhance peacekeeping capabilities and promote interoperability among military forces from around the world.

The Indian Army contingent, comprising troops from the MADRAS REGIMENT, along with personnel from other Arms and Services, includes one Woman Officer and two Women Soldiers. The exercise will focus on joint planning, tactical drills, and physical fitness, with an emphasis on establishing interoperability and military readiness in peace support operations under the United Nations Charter.

Tactical drills to be practiced during the exercise include establishment of Static and Mobile Check Points, Cordon and Search Operations, Patrolling, Evacuation of Civilians from Hostile Area, Counter Improvised Explosive Device drills, Combat First Aid, and Casualty Evacuation.

Exercise KHAAN QUEST, now in its 21st iteration, has evolved from a bilateral event between the USA and Mongolian Armed Forces in 2003 to a multinational peacekeeping exercise. The exercise provides a platform for participating countries to share best practices in Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures for joint operations, promoting inter-operability, bonhomie, and camaraderie among soldiers.

The Indian Army’s participation in Exercise KHAAN QUEST demonstrates its commitment to enhancing peacekeeping capabilities and promoting global cooperation in military operations.
