Indian Air Force Deploys C-17 Globemaster for Humanitarian Assistance in Laos and Vietnam
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has launched Operation Sadbhav to provide critical humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to Cambodia and Vietnam, following the devastating floods caused by Typhoon Yagi. The IAF’s C-17 Globemaster aircraft has been deployed to transport essential aid to the affected regions.
In a swift and efficient operation, the C-17 team at Hindan loaded 35 tons of aid bound for Vietnam, comprising water purification items, water containers, blankets, kitchen utensils, and solar lanterns. Additionally, 10 tons of aid, including genset, water purification items, hygiene supplies, mosquito nets, blankets, and sleeping bags, were loaded for Laos.
The C-17 Globemaster, renowned for its vast cargo capacity and long-range capabilities, is ideally suited for transporting relief materials, essential supplies, and personnel to disaster-stricken areas. This deployment underscores the IAF’s commitment to providing critical support during times of crisis, reinforcing India’s role as a responsible and caring neighbor in the region.
