India and Germany Deepen Collaboration on Future-Ready Skills Development
New Delhi: The German Embassy recently hosted the fifth edition of the GSDP Conversation Series at IIT Delhi, fostering dialogue on the future of work in the digital era. Leaders from academia, industry, and government converged to address the evolving labor market needs and the imperative of green and digital skills.
The event underscored the importance of synergy between industry and academia, technological upskilling, and inclusive digital transformation. Dr. Bärbel Kofler, Parliamentary State Secretary, emphasized the interconnectedness of education, technology, and sustainability. Dr. Nina Smidt, Director of Siemens Stiftung, highlighted the transformative potential of digitalization and AI in education.
India and Germany are strengthening cooperation in skill development and vocational education, building on their existing partnership. The Green and Sustainable Development Partnership (GSDP), launched in 2022, provides a framework for collaborative progress.
The discussions highlighted the need for robust education and training systems to address the rapidly changing labor market demands. Experts from Siemens Limited India, GIZ India, and IIT Delhi shared insights on driving growth, creating opportunities, and promoting sustainable development.
The 7th Indo-German Cabinet Consultations, scheduled for later in 2024, will further solidify bilateral cooperation. This strategic partnership aims to drive innovation, create opportunities, and promote sustainable development in both nations, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
