India and China Hold Crucial Talks on Border Issues and Bilateral Relations

National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval met with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on Thursday in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on the sidelines of the BRICS NSA Meeting. The meeting aimed to resolve outstanding issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and stabilize bilateral relations.

Both sides reviewed recent efforts to address border disputes and agreed to work urgently towards complete disengagement in remaining areas. NSA Doval emphasized the importance of peace and tranquility in border areas and respect for the LAC for normalizing bilateral relations. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to adhering to past agreements, protocols, and understandings.

The meeting acknowledged the significance of the India-China relationship, not only for both nations but also for regional and global stability. The two sides also exchanged views on global and regional developments, highlighting the need for cooperation on pressing issues.

This meeting marks a crucial step towards resolving border tensions and revitalizing bilateral relations between India and China.
