As per security forces , Naxals, who had been terrorizing the region for decades, fired indiscriminately at the security forces, prompting a retaliatory response.
Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj P., stated that effective actions against the banned and illegal CPI Maoist organization have resulted from better coordination and strategy between local police forces and central paramilitary forces in recent days.
This achievement marks the fifth major success for the Narayanpur Police’s anti-Naxal “Mad Bachao Abhiyan” within 60 days, indicating a significant shift in the balance of power in the region. The villagers, who had been living in fear of Naxal violence for nearly 40 years, are now envisioning Mad free from violence, fear, and Naxalism.
The police have appealed to those who have fallen under the influence of Naxal ideology to abandon it and join the mainstream of society, adopting the government’s surrender and rehabilitation policy.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Kanker, K.L. Dhruv, and Superintendent of Police Narayanpur, Prabhat Kumar, stated that after this operation, there is an atmosphere of fear among the Maoists in the Mad Division, which they considered a safe haven.
