First Joint Commanders’ Conference Kicks Off in Lucknow

The inaugural Joint Commanders’ Conference (JCC) began in Lucknow on September 4, 2024, with the theme “Sashakt and Surakshit Bharat: Transforming Armed Forces.” The conference aims to shape the future of India’s military to adapt to the evolving operational landscape.

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan Leads the Convocation

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, along with the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, led the convocation, which brings together top officials from the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces.

Focus on Integration and Jointness

General Chauhan emphasized the importance of jointness and integration across various domains to adapt to future warfare and conduct effect-based operations. He commended the three Services for initiating measures towards integration, stressing that it is a step-by-step process leading to a joint culture and ultimately, integrated forces for joint operations.

Deliberations on Command and Control Centres

The conference focused on establishing command and control centres with requisite infrastructure to facilitate decision-making. General Chauhan highlighted the need for operational preparedness to meet emerging challenges and the imperative need for modernization to stay relevant and achieve strategic autonomy.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh to Attend

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh is scheduled to attend the conference on the second day, engaging in detailed deliberations with senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and the apex leadership of the Indian Armed Forces.
