CISF Foils Naxal Plot, Detects and Neutralizes 3 kg IED in Chhattisgarh

In a remarkable display of professionalism and courage, personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) successfully detected and neutralized a pressure-activated Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing 3 kg in BIOM Kirandul, Chhattisgarh. The IED was strategically placed by Naxal elements near a frequently used road, posing a significant threat to lives and property.

On September 12, 2024, a CISF team was deployed to sanitize and secure the Lohagaon Junction in anticipation of an NMDC explosive van movement. During the combing operation, the team detected the concealed IED, exhibiting exceptional vigilance and expertise. The CISF personnel swiftly dominated the area, ruling out the presence of any suspicious Naxal elements, and ensured the safe dismantling of the IED by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).

This courageous act saved precious lives and averted potential collateral damages, thwarting the Naxal elements’ nefarious plan to cause harm and inflict damage.
