Chhattisgarh, Centre Join Hands to Eradicate Naxalism by 2026
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah today in New Delhi to discuss key issues affecting the state, including development, security, and strategies to eradicate Naxalism. During meeting Home Minister Shah reviews progress of operations in Naxal-affected areas and the actions taken by security forces.
Sai expressed confidence in making Chhattisgarh “Naxal-free” by March 2026, aligning with the Union Home Minister’s commitment. He highlighted the state government’s achievements in anti-Naxal operations, with approximately 200 Naxalites killed and 742 surrendered in the last 11 months.
The chief minister also discussed ongoing development work in Naxal-affected areas, focusing on road construction, education, health, and employment. Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured the Chhattisgarh government of full cooperation against Naxalism and appreciated the state’s efforts in bringing positive change to these areas.
As per statement from Chhatisgarh Government, “Chief Minister said that the state government has taken many important steps in the field of road construction, education, health and employment, which is bringing positive change in these areas. The home minister appreciated efforts and assured all possible cooperation from the Centre.”
The meeting demonstrated the collaborative efforts between the central government and Chhattisgarh to address Naxalism and promote development in the region.
