BSF Engages with Locals to Enhance Bangladesh Border Security

In a bid to strengthen border security and foster community welfare, the Border Security Force (BSF) organized village coordination meetings in the border villages of North 24 Parganas and Nadia districts in West Bengal. The meetings aimed to promote mutual trust and cooperation between the BSF and local residents.

Company Commanders from various Border Outposts led the meetings, which were attended by Panchayat Pradhans, Panchayat members, and villagers. The discussions focused on strengthening the relationship between the BSF and local communities, emphasizing the need for cooperation in maintaining security and preventing illegal activities.

The meetings also covered the role of local residents in border security, implementation of Section 144 of the CrPC during night hours, and prohibited activities such as unnecessary civilian movement on the embankment and fishing in the border area during night hours.

The BSF regularly conducts such meetings to win the hearts and minds of border residents, promoting mutual trust and cooperation for national security and community welfare. With increased security measures and awareness campaigns, the BSF is actively engaging with residents to enhance national security and community welfare.

Public Relations Officer of BSF, South Bengal Frontier A.K. Arya, DIG stated that the BSF regularly conducts coordination meetings with villagers in border areas.These meetings by the 68th, 05th, 85th and 102th Battalions of the BSF reflects their continuous efforts to win the hearts and minds of the border residents, thereby promoting mutual trust and cooperation for national security and community welfare.
