BSF Director General Reviews Tactical Preparedness on Indo-Bangladesh Border

Kolkata, August 6, 2024: On the second day of his visit, Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary, accompanied by senior officials, reviewed the tactical and operational preparedness of BSF troops at the Integrated Check Post (ICP) Petrapole and the 68th Battalion’s Ranaghat Border Outpost on the Indo-Bangladesh border.

The visit aimed to assess the deployment strategies and operational challenges faced by BSF personnel in light of recent developments in Bangladesh. At ICP Petrapole, the Director General inspected the Passenger and Cargo Terminals, discussing complex operational challenges with troops. He also visited the new ICP building and met with the Officiating Commanding Officer of 145 Battalion to review operational procedures.

At the Ranaghat Border Outpost, Chawdhary held a meeting with BSF officers to discuss the current situation in Bangladesh and strategies to counter illegal infiltration and smuggling. He emphasized the need for increased vigilance and effective measures to address these challenges.

Addressing officers and jawans in a Sainik Sammelan, the Director General highlighted the importance of border preparedness amidst challenging conditions in Bangladesh. He instructed troops to remain alert and prepared for any emerging situation, underscoring BSF’s commitment to maintaining strong security measures and operational efficiency along the sensitive India-Bangladesh border.
