Argentina’s Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, to Embark on 5-Day Visit to India

Diana Mondino, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Argentine Republic, is set to pay an official visit to India from October 5 to 9, 2024. This significant trip coincides with the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic ties between India and Argentina, marking a crucial milestone in their bilateral relationship.
During her visit, FM Mondino will co-chair the 7th India-Argentina Joint Commission Meeting alongside External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar. This meeting will provide a platform for in-depth discussions on various aspects of their strategic partnership.
FM Mondino is also expected to meet with several key ministers in the Indian government, including those responsible for Commerce and Industry, Agriculture, Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Consumer Affairs. Accompanied by a trade delegation, she will participate in a business interaction organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry.
Additionally, FM Mondino will engage with the Observer Research Foundation, a prominent think tank. This visit offers a valuable opportunity for both nations to review their bilateral relations and explore ways to further strengthen their strategic partnership.
As Argentina’s Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino brings a wealth of experience, having served as Director of Institutional Affairs at the University of CEMA and as a national deputy for Buenos Aires city. Her background in economics, with degrees from prestigious institutions, will undoubtedly inform her discussions with Indian counterparts.
The India-Argentina Business Council (IABC), established in 2020, has been instrumental in fostering economic and commercial ties between the two countries. The council comprises leading Indian companies operating in Argentina and vice versa, as well as prominent exporters and importers.
As FM Mondino’s visit progresses, it is expected to yield significant outcomes, enhancing cooperation and collaboration between India and Argentina in various sectors.
