Amit Shah Stresses Need for Global Cooperation to Combat Terrorism
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the two-day Anti-Terrorism Conference 2024, organized by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), with a resolute address reaffirming the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.
Shah emphasized the significance of the NIA as a platform for promoting anti-terrorist activities nationwide. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “zero tolerance” policy against terrorism, which has gained global recognition.

Shah noted the NIA’s remarkable 95% conviction rate in UAPA cases, demonstrating its effectiveness in combating terrorism. He also announced plans to introduce a National Counter-Terrorism Policy and Strategy.
The Union Home Minister stressed the need for a coordinated approach to tackle terror financing and cryptocurrencies. He emphasized the importance of global cooperation, highlighting India’s commitment to the “No Money for Terror” initiative.
The event is being attended by senior police officers, central agency officials, and experts from related fields. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of Intelligence Bureau Tapan Kumar Deka, and NIA Director General Sadanand Vasant Date are among the dignitaries present.
Shah’s address underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism. The Anti-Terrorism Conference 2024 aims to enhance coordination among agencies to strengthen India’s security.
