Amit Shah Inaugurates Programme to Expedite Immigration Process for Indian Travellers

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the ‘Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme’ (FTI-TTP) at Terminal-3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday. The programme aims to provide faster and more convenient immigration clearance for Indian citizens and OCI cardholders.

Speaking at the occasion, Shah said, “The Trusted Traveller Programme is a visionary initiative of the Government of India, designed to benefit Indian citizens and OCI cardholders. It will provide a more seamless experience for Indian Nationals and OCI passengers arriving from abroad.”

The launch of FTI-TTP is a key agenda set for Viksit Bharat @2047, reflecting the Modi Government’s commitment to enhancing travel convenience and efficiency. The facility will be available free of cost for all passengers, providing faster, smoother, and safer immigration clearance through automated gates.

The programme will be implemented in two phases, covering Indian citizens and OCI cardholders in the first phase, and foreign travellers in the second. Applicants can enroll online, and after verification, a White List of ‘Trusted Travellers’ will be generated for implementation through e-Gates.

The FTI-TTP will be launched at 21 major airports in the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Ahmedabad in the first phase.

This initiative is a significant step towards making international travel easy and secure, aligning with the government’s vision for a more efficient and convenient travel experience.
