AeroIndia 2025: Indian Army Strengthens Air Defence Capabilities with Indigenous Solutions

Bangalore: The Indian Army has showcased its commitment to indigenisation at AeroIndia 2025, with a focus on strengthening its air defence capabilities. Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS) emphasized the need for self-reliance in defence technology.
The Army’s thrust on indigenisation was evident in the Vehicle Mounted Counter Storm Drone System , a cutting-edge solution designed to counter the growing threat of drone warfare. This system, developed in partnership with Indian industry, is a testament to the country’s growing capabilities in defence technology.
“The Indian Army is committed to leveraging indigenous solutions to enhance its air defence capabilities,” said Lt Gen Raja Subramani. “We are actively pursuing the development of advanced systems, including the Vehicle Mounted Counter Storm Drone System, to stay ahead of emerging threats.”
The Next Generation Man Portable Air Defence Missile System (MANPADS) is another example of India’s growing expertise in air defence systems. This advanced solution, being developed with the latest technology, including infrared homing and LASER guidance, is set to revolutionize the Army’s air defence capabilities.
