Adani Defence & Aerospace, DRDO Launch India’s First Counter-Drone System

Bengaluru: Adani Defence & Aerospace, in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), unveiled the country’s first indigenous Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System at Aero India 2025.
The Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System is equipped with advanced sensors, including radar, electro-optical sensors, and jammers, which enable automatic detection, classification, and neutralization of drones. The system also features a high-energy laser system and a 7.62 mm gun for precise drone neutralization.
The state-of-the-art system, designed to counter the growing threat of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), was launched by Dr. B.K. Das, Director General (Electronics & Communication System), DRDO, in the presence of senior defence officials and industry experts.
According to Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, the indigenous development of the Counter-Drone System is a testament to India’s growing capabilities in defence technology. “We are proud to have collaborated with DRDO to bring this cutting-edge technology to our armed forces,” he said.
Dr. B.K. Das, Director General (Electronics & Communication System), DRDO, emphasized the importance of developing indigenous defence technologies to strengthen national security. “The introduction of the Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System is a significant step forward in our efforts to counter asymmetric threats,” he said.
The system is expected to play a critical role in enhancing defence preparedness against evolving aerial threats.
