NSDC to set up Centre for Future Skills at Chaudhary Charan Singh University

Meerut: The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is setting up a Centre for Future Skills at Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU) in Meerut.

The centre aims to provide training in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Healthcare. This initiative is part of NSDC’s plan to create similar centres across the country.

Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it will provide students with valuable training in new-age courses and enhance their employability.

“This Centre for Future Skills in Meerut is a great initiative to facilitate various valuable training for students in new-age courses like Artificial Intelligence, healthcare, Machine Learning etc. There are continuous attempts being made to provide the students with opportunities and platforms for them to showcase their skills and talent.” said MoS Jayant Chaudhary.

Two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the launch event. One MoU focuses on integrating skill development into mainstream education, while the other aims to provide training and employment opportunities for women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in manufacturing badminton rackets and shuttlecocks.

The centre will utilize platforms like Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), NSDC JobX, and NSDC International to offer skilling and employment opportunities in India and abroad.

“With the rapid evolution of technology, the workforce of tomorrow must be equipped with skills that align with industry demands. The Centre for Future Skills will help facilitate futuristic skills in both tech and non-tech sectors, focusing on cutting-edge healthcare and paramedic technologies, and offering language courses to enhance international mobility.” said Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC.

This initiative is part of NSDC’s broader plan to create 50 such centres nationwide, transforming Meerut into a significant hub for skill development, innovation, and employment.
