Adani Green Energy Surpasses 12,000 MW Operational Renewable Energy Capacity

New Delhi: Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has announced that it has exceeded 12,000 megawatts (MW) of operational renewable energy capacity. The company’s operational portfolio now stands at 12,258.1 MW, comprising solar, wind, and wind-solar hybrid capacity.

This milestone marks a significant achievement for AGEL, which aims to deliver 50,000 MW of clean energy by 2030. The company’s operational portfolio is expected to power over 6.2 million homes and avoid approximately 22.64 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

AGEL’s renewable energy capacity contributes to India’s clean energy goals, representing about 10% of the country’s installed utility-scale solar and wind capacity. The company is also developing a 30,000 MW renewable energy plant at Khavda, Gujarat.

AGEL’s CEO, Vneet Jaain, stated that the company is committed to accelerating its growth trajectory and making clean energy accessible to all.

“We are proud to have achieved this milestone, which demonstrates our commitment to enabling India’s clean energy transition.We will continue to accelerate our growth trajectory, leveraging technology and innovation to reduce the Levelized Cost of Energy and make clean energy accessible to all.” said Vneet Jaain.

The company’s operational portfolio has received certifications for its sustainable practices, including being ‘water positive’ and ‘single-use plastic free’.
