Russian Embassy Celebrates Defender of the Fatherland Day

New Delhi: The Russian Embassy in India hosted a reception to commemorate Defender of the Fatherland Day, marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Ambassador Denis Alipov welcomed guests, highlighting the significance of preserving the Soviet people’s heroic legacy. He emphasized 2025 as the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland in Russia and expressed confidence in the 25-year-old Russian-Indian strategic partnership, built on equality, mutual respect, and trust.
Air Vice Marshal Ichettira Iyappa Kuttappa of Indian Air Force attended as the Chief Guest. The event brought together senior government officials, ambassadors, military attaches, business leaders, and representatives from India’s scientific, cultural, and media communities.
The Indian Air Force Band’s performance of Russian and Indian music added a cultural touch. The reception reinforced the enduring bond between Russia and India, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.
