Ukraine Ambassador Honors Indian Students at Writing Contest Ceremony

New Delhi: In a historic first, the 1st Ukraine-India Students’ Writing Contest 2024 “With Love to Ukraine” brought together young talents from across India. As per Ukraine Embassy in India, the contest received an overwhelming response, with over 950 entries from more than 200 schools across India.
Addressing the winners Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk, Ambassador of Ukraine to India, praised the participants and organizers for their dedication to deepening understanding and strengthening Ukraine-India ties. Ambassador also highlighted the importance of building people-to-people connections from childhood, ensuring that Ukraine and India continue to grow closer.

A three-tier evaluation process was conducted in Ukraine, ensuring impartiality and transparency. Fifteen winners were announced across various categories, including two Grand Prix winners in the Senior and Junior groups. Principals and teachers were also recognized with certificates of appreciation.
A felicitation ceremony was held at Mount Abu Public School, Rohini, New Delhi, to honor the winners. The Ambassador of Ukraine to India,Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk and special guests from Ukraine, including veteran Pavlo Kharatin, attended the ceremony.
The contest was divided into two age groups: Junior (grades 6-8) and Senior (grades 9-12). The Junior group had categories “Ukraine in my Dream” and “To my Ukrainian Friend,” while the Senior group had categories “The Beauty of Ukrainian Culture” and “For a Strong Ukraine-India Friendship.”
The contest, organized by the East European Development Institute (EEDI) and PT GLOBAL EDU, aimed to foster friendship and cultural exchange between Ukraine and India.
“This project addressed the critical need of enhancing knowledge about Ukraine and aimed at raising awareness among children on such universal topics as culture, amity and imagination.” said Dr. Mridula Ghosh, Chair of EEDI.
The Embassy of Ukraine in India played a crucial role in facilitating the contest and ceremony.
Founder and CEO of PT GLOBAL EDU, CN Patel said, “this is a unique opportunity for children not only to know about Ukraine, but also for enhancing Ukraine’s public diplomacy.”
