BSF, BGB Hold Key Meeting to Enhance Border Security

Kolkata: A crucial Sector Commander level Border Coordination Meeting between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was held at Petrapole-Benapole border on January 15, 2024. This significant gathering underscored the commitment of both forces to fortify bilateral relations and ensure the sanctity of the international border.
The Indian delegation was led by Tarni Kumar, DIG, Sector Headquarters BSF Kolkata, while the BGB delegation was headed by Colonel Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury, Sector Commander, Sector Headquarters BGB Khulna.
The meeting focused on key issues such as development projects in border areas, implementation of Single Row Fence, and effective measures to combat cross-border crime, including cattle smuggling, human trafficking, and illegal immigration.
The meeting highlighted the strong partnership between India and Bangladesh, demonstrating their shared commitment to maintaining border sanctity and addressing mutual concerns.
The BSF and BGB have been engaging in regular bilateral meetings to strengthen cooperation and trust. These interactions have been instrumental in promoting peace and stability along the India-Bangladesh border.
