Mahakumbh Security: 15,000 Personnel Deployed, Women’s Safety a Priority
Mahakumbh Nagar: The Mahakumbh festival has witnessed a massive deployment of security personnel, with over 70 districts contributing forces to ensure the safety and well-being of devotees. The security detail includes 15,000 civil police personnel, who will be stationed throughout Mahakumbh Nagar to maintain law and order.
In a bid to provide a secure and comfortable environment for women attending the festival, 400 women security officers have been assigned specifically to ensure their safety. This move underscores the importance of women’s safety and well-being during the Mahakumbh.
To support the security personnel deployed at the festival, arrangements for accommodation and meals have been made at the police line. A storeroom, a counting office, and an armoury have also been set up within the police line premises. Furthermore, a hospital has been established at the police line to cater to the healthcare needs of security personnel, with three specialist doctors deployed to ensure quality care.
In line with the Digital Mahakumbh initiative, an app has been developed to securely store comprehensive data of all police personnel deployed at the event. The app enables instant access to details by scanning any security personnel’s face, providing their name and the district they are assigned from. Digital attendance for all police personnel is also being recorded through the app.
To ensure the comfort and convenience of women security personnel, a dedicated Mahila Police Colony has been set up at the police line. The colony accommodates 400 women officers and includes separate mess and canteen facilities.
With these extensive security arrangements in place, the Mahakumbh festival is poised to provide a safe and secure environment for devotees from across the country.
