India and Cambodia Deepen Defense Ties with Historic Joint Exercise CINBAX
Pune, India – In a significant milestone in bilateral defense cooperation, the Indian and Cambodian armies have launched the inaugural Joint Table Top Exercise, CINBAX, at the Foreign Training Node in Pune. The exercise, which commenced on December 1, 2024, aims to enhance interoperability and cooperation between the two nations’ military forces.
The week-long exercise focuses on Counter Terrorism (CT) operations and peacekeeping missions, with a specific emphasis on planning and conducting joint operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter. The exercise brings together 20 personnel from the Cambodian Army and an equal number from the Indian Army’s Infantry Brigade.
Exercise CINBAX is structured into three phases, including preparations and orientation, Table Top exercises, and finalization of plans. The exercise is designed to foster greater understanding and cooperation between the two armies, promoting peace and stability in the region.
This historic joint exercise marks a significant milestone in India-Cambodia defense cooperation, highlighting the shared commitment to promoting regional security and stability. The exercise also underscores India’s emphasis on promoting ‘Atmanirbharta’ and indigenous capabilities in defense production.
