NIA’s Anti-Terror Conference Concludes with Resolve to Intensify Fight Against Terrorism
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) two-day Anti-Terror Conference concluded today, culminating in a unified resolve to intensify the fight against terrorism. The conference aimed to devise a comprehensive roadmap for counter-terrorism efforts in collaboration with various agencies and state forces.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the necessity of a coordinated approach to combat terrorism, underscoring the need for a ruthless strategy to prevent the emergence of new terrorist organizations. He announced key measures to bolster India’s anti-terror efforts, including the development of a National Counter-terrorism Policy & Strategy.
Shah noted the NIA’s remarkable 95% conviction rate in UAPA cases, demonstrating its effectiveness in combating terrorism. He also announced plans to introduce a National Counter-Terrorism Policy and Strategy.
The Union Home Minister stressed the need for a coordinated approach to tackle terror financing and cryptocurrencies. He emphasized the importance of global cooperation, highlighting India’s commitment to the “No Money for Terror” initiative.
The conference comprised five thematic sessions, focusing on critical aspects of counter-terrorism, including prosecution, emerging technologies, and dismantling terror ecosystems. Delegates from 29 states, 31 central organizations, and various law enforcement agencies actively participated in panel discussions, sharing expertise and best practices.
