India, Australia Launch Joint Military Exercise AUSTRAHIND
Pune, Maharashtra – The third edition of Exercise AUSTRAHIND commenced today, running from November 8-21. This annual joint military exercise between India and Australia promotes cooperation through enhanced interoperability in semi-urban environments.
India is represented by 140 personnel from the DOGRA Regiment and 14 from the Indian Air Force, while Australia’s contingent consists of 120 personnel from the 13th Light Horse Regiment.
The exercise focuses on physical fitness, joint planning, and tactical drills, rehearsing scenarios like counter-terrorism operations and drone employment.
The joint military exercise between India and Australia will consist of two phases: Combat Conditioning and Tactical Training, followed by Validation.
During the exercise, participants will rehearse various critical scenarios. These include responding to terrorist capture of territory, establishing a Joint Operations Centre, conducting joint counter-terrorism operations such as Raid and Search and Destroy Missions, securing helipads, employing drones and counter-drone measures, and executing Special Heli Borne Operations.
This comprehensive training program aims to enhance interoperability, tactical skills, and joint operation capabilities between the Indian and Australian armed forces.
This partnership strengthens India-Australia defense ties, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.
