The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted a series of searches across Kashmir on Tuesday, targeting a recruitment module linked to Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim (TLM), a new faction of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
The operation spanned 10 locations, including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama. Authorities aimed to uncover a larger conspiracy involving banned terrorist groups in J&K and beyond.
Investigations revealed that ‘@Baba Hamas’, a Pakistani handler, leads TLM, using encrypted channels to radicalize and recruit Kashmiri youth. The module communicated with handlers across the border through secure means.
As per Jammu and Kashmir Police statement , “Newly floated terrorist organisation have claimed few incidents in recent past which includes but not limited to a fire incident in Panchayat Ghar in Seer area of District Pulwama and another fire in a remote village of Doda (though not corroborated on ground) and this outfit also remained involved in pasting of posters at various locations in South and Central Kashmir and on internet based social media platforms as well.”
Arrests were made, and incriminating materials seized, including digital devices and seditious content. TLM claimed responsibility for recent incidents and spread propaganda posters across Kashmir.
This crackdown aims to dismantle the terror infrastructure in J&K by identifying and prosecuting those supporting terrorism. The CIK’s action marks a significant blow to terrorist organizations seeking to spread violence and radicalize youth.
