Indian Air Force Celebrates 92nd Anniversary with Dazzling Air Show in Chennai
The Indian Air Force (IAF) celebrated its 92nd anniversary today with a breathtaking air show at Marina Beach in Chennai, one of the world’s longest beaches. The event, themed “Sashakt, Saksham, Atmanirbhar” (Potent, Powerful, Self-reliant), showcased the IAF’s strength, skill, and commitment to safeguarding India’s airspace.
The air show featured an array of aircraft, including cutting-edge fighter jets, transport planes, and helicopters. Indigenous projects like Tejas, Advanced Light Helicopter, Light Combat Helicopter Prachand, and Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 were displayed, symbolizing India’s path towards self-reliance.
The audience was treated to stunning aerial maneuvers, including low-level aerobatics by the Sukhoi-30 MKI, demonstrating the IAF pilots’ exceptional professionalism. The Suryakiran and Sarang Aerobatic Teams delivered awe-inspiring performances, mesmerizing the estimated 1.5 million-strong audience.
MK Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, alongside Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, and senior defence officials.
The air show highlighted the IAF’s transformative journey towards becoming a modern and formidable force, resonating with its motto, “Touch the Sky with Glory.” This spectacular display reaffirmed India’s capability, empowerment, and commitment to self-reliance.
