Union Home Minister Amit Shah Vows to Eliminate Naxalism by 2026

Union Home Minister Amit Shah interacted with victims of Naxalite violence from Chhattisgarh at his residence in New Delhi. The meeting, attended by 55 individuals from Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected areas, aimed to address the plight of those affected by Naxalism.

During the interaction, Shah reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to completely eliminating Naxalism by March 2026, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted the progress made in restricting LWE to fewer districts in Chhattisgarh, thanks to the Modi government’s policies.

Shah emphasized that Naxalism poses a threat to both humanity and internal security. He announced a comprehensive development scheme for LWE-affected areas, to be launched within three months, providing healthcare, employment opportunities, and welfare programs.

The Union Home Minister urged Left Wing Extremists to renounce violence and join the mainstream. He stressed that the government’s developmental initiatives in affected areas demonstrate that saving lives is more valuable than taking them.

The government’s resolve to eliminate Naxalism brings hope to those affected by Naxalite violence. With this commitment, Bastar is poised to regain its former glory as a peaceful and developed region.

The Bastar Peace Committee screened a documentary highlighting the plight of people affected by Naxalism in Chhattisgarh. Some victims shared their personal stories with the Home Minister, showcasing the human cost of Naxalite violence.

Shah’s assurance is a significant step towards restoring peace and stability in LWE-affected areas. The upcoming development scheme will focus on improving healthcare, employment, and welfare programs, bringing relief to those affected.
